Keanu Reeves’ played a relatively minor supporting role as “Jonathan Harker” in this film. “Jonathan Harker is a young, rather inexperienced attorney that has been sent to an arbitrary, little eastern European hamlet or settlement to conduct business with a “Count Dracula”, in place of the previous attorney, “R.M. Renfield”, who has been driven mad. Once this mysterious and dangerous “Count” discovers that “Jonathan Harker” is engaged to a young woman (by the name of “Mina Murray”) who resembles his long deceased true love, he sets “Harker” up with his undead mistresses to prevent him from returning to her. This is done so that “Count Dracula” can seek her out to abscond with her; most likely with the intent to obtain a lifetime mate in “Mina”.

Storyline: “This version of Dracula is closely based on Bram Stoker’s classic novel of the same name. A young lawyer (Jonathan Harker) is assigned to a gloomy village in the mists of eastern Europe. He is captured and imprisoned by the undead vampire, Dracula, who travels to London, inspired by a photograph of Harker’s betrothed, Mina Murray. In Britain, Dracula begins a reign of seduction and terror, draining the life from Mina’s closest friend, Lucy Westenra. Lucy’s friends gather together to try to drive Dracula away.” Written by Goth <brooks@odie.ee.wits.ac.za>

I found “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” to be quite an entertaining film with a cast of talented actors. Unfortunately, Keanu Reeves took much flack from critics concerning his portrayal of the character “Jonathan Harker”. This was mostly due to the way he spoke with a British accent. I, myself, did not find the accent atrocious. Certainly, I think “much ado about nothing” (to quote Shakespeare, and one of the films under Keanu’s belt) was emitted about such an inconsequential matter. Personally, I feel that I would not be able to speak fluently in every single diverse linguistic accent in existence. And I do believe that Keanu Reeves did at least attempt to have a go at speaking with a British accent through his own best effort or initiative.

Please feel free to read the Rotten Tomatoes Movie Review below the weblink:{https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bram_stokers_dracula/}

“Coppola’s stunning adaptation of the classic vampire novel is a movie lover’s dream, as the director elected to rely on old-school cinematic techniques (albeit executed with modern-day aplomb) to punch across his bold and bloody interpretation.” Written by Matt Brunson of Creative Loafing via http://www.rottentomatoes.com

I must say that I truly enjoyed watching this film during the summer of 1993. This was one of the films I enjoyed immensely that summer. One of the other films I enjoyed viewing at that time was “A Few Good Men”. I tend to remember that summer very well. Both films were a few of the 1993 summer blockbusters. Now, these films came before the next Keanu Reeves’ film and mega blockbuster, “Speed”. And with a Movie Review like the one above, it is obvious that the great maestro, Francis Ford Coppola, did not make an error in casting Keanu Reeves, my Muse.

Thus, please feel free to watch this intriguing film, for any of you who have not had the pleasure of doing so. Now, I am Miss TaffeytheChamp. I am Creator of this Blog and Author of the Action Adventure/Futuristic Fantasy E-Book entitled, “The Mystery Alliance: Evian’s Saga”. Keanu Reeves is my Special Muse and Inspiration for my creation of “Evian Magi”, the protagonist (main character), within this E-Book. And “Evian Magi” is, in actuality, the Mystic Fantasy Hero version of Keanu Reeves.
